1. This website is not medical advice
China Medical Guides is a patient-coordination company. We are not a hospital, a clinic or a medical practice, and we do not employ physicians to treat you. Everything published on this website — articles, hospital profiles, cost ranges, process guides, answers to questions, and anything a coordinator writes to you about logistics — is general information about access, cost and process.
It is not a diagnosis, a second opinion, a treatment recommendation, a prescription, or a substitute for consulting a qualified physician who has examined you. It is not tailored to your medical history, your medication, your allergies or your circumstances, and it cannot be, because we have not examined you and we are not qualified to.
Do not delay seeking medical attention, and do not stop or change any treatment you have been prescribed, on the basis of anything you read here. If you are considering treatment abroad, discuss it with the physician who is looking after you now.
2. No doctor–patient relationship
Using this website, sending the consultation form, corresponding with a coordinator, receiving a hospital proposal or paying our service fee does not create a physician–patient relationship between you and us, or between you and any physician we name.
A clinical relationship begins only when a licensed physician at a treating hospital accepts you as a patient, after an appropriate consultation and with your informed consent. Until then, no one at China Medical Guides is in a position to advise you clinically, and no member of our team will attempt to. If a coordinator appears to cross that line, tell us — it is a training and quality issue we want to know about.
3. If this is an emergency
Do not use our consultation form, email or WhatsApp for an emergency. We are not an emergency service. Our coordination desk answers within one business day during Hong Kong office hours, and no one is monitoring messages for urgent clinical problems. A delay while waiting for our reply could be dangerous.
If you are already in China and something goes wrong during treatment, tell the treating hospital first — its own emergency and ward teams are on site and can act immediately. Tell your coordinator afterwards, and we will help with interpretation, paperwork and communication with your family.
4. Individual results vary, and no outcome is guaranteed
Medicine does not offer certainties, and any service that promises you a result is not being honest with you. What happens in your case depends on factors that no coordinator, and often no physician, can fully predict: the nature and stage of the condition, your age and general health, other conditions you may have, how you respond to treatment, the skill and judgement of the treating team, and how consistently you follow rehabilitation afterwards.
Figures published on this site — survival rates, success rates, complication rates, case volumes, savings percentages — are population-level statistics or hospital-reported averages. They describe groups, not individuals, and they cannot tell you what will happen to you. Complication rates are never zero, including at the best hospitals in the world, and travel adds its own risks: thrombosis on a long flight, infection, and the difficulty of follow-up far from the treating team.
No outcome is guaranteed by China Medical Guides, by any hospital we work with, or by any physician. We do not promise that treatment will succeed, that a hospital will accept your case, that a specific physician will remain available, that your stay will be the length we estimated, or that your final bill will match the estimate.
5. Accuracy of information and review dates
We take sourcing seriously. Clinical and statistical claims in our articles carry a source, and our hospital profiles are built from the hospitals' own published figures and from accreditation registers. Clinical content is reviewed by a licensed physician before publication where a named clinical reviewer is available; where one is not, the page is published as access, cost and process information only.
Even so, medical knowledge, hospital rankings, prices, accreditation statuses and entry rules all change. Articles carry a publication and review date, and hospital profiles are reviewed quarterly, but a page can be out of date between reviews. If you spot something wrong, tell us at hello@chinamedicalguides.com and we will check it and correct it.
6. Cost figures are planning ranges, not quotations
Prices on this site are reference ranges compiled for planning. They are not quotations, and they are not offers. Only the written estimate issued by a hospital's international department is a quotation, and even that is a range rather than a cap: it can move when a stay runs longer, when a complication occurs, or when you and your physician choose an implant or a drug outside the base package. Where the hospital recommends a change, it issues a revised estimate before proceeding, and we explain it in your language.
7. Third-party links and hospital content
This site links to hospitals, journals, regulators and other organisations. Those links are there to help you verify what we say, not as an endorsement, and we do not control the content behind them. A link does not mean that we have approved everything on the destination page, and the destination's own terms, privacy policy and medical disclaimers apply once you leave our site.
8. Patient stories
We do not publish invented testimonials and we do not pay for reviews. A patient story appears only with written, specific consent from the patient, and we edit only for length and clarity — never to change the clinical facts or to make an outcome sound more typical than it is.
No story on this site should be read as a prediction about your own case. The patients who agree to be written about are not a representative sample, and the fact that something worked once says nothing about whether it will work for you.
9. Your own physician remains in charge
Nothing we do replaces the physician who examines you. Decisions about whether to travel, whether to accept a proposed treatment, and what to do after you return home belong to you and to the clinicians treating you. We will give you the information, the translation and the logistics to make those decisions properly — and we will tell you plainly when a question is a clinical one that we are not able to answer.
